The interactive memorial which commemorates all those from this region who have served in the armed services since WWII was officially unveiled in 2018.
The centrepiece of the memorial is a touch screen which allows visitors to view short films or to seek the service records of 9000 men and women from the region have been which have been added so far. At dusk every evening the Last Post sounds across the hill and is echoed by the Ode of Remembrance, which reminds us of the great cost that has been paid to ensure our freedom; lest we forget.
Before you cross the road to the main memorial, you may wish to take a seat in the peace memorial rose garden or view the adjacent commemorative plaques.
When you have completed your visit please take great care when crossing the roundabout to the main memorial. Station 8 is next to the flower bed near the entry to the forecourt
